Lutheran Catechetical Society presentatoin by Rev. Dr. Ken Schurb

Are you in the dark regarding the proposed changes by President Kieschnick’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Synodical Structure and Governance (BRTFSSG)? With district conventions underway, make sure you, your congregation, and your lay delegate have a good understanding of what is being proposed!

The Lutheran Catechetical Society (Bloomington North Circuit, CID) is offering a recent presentation by the Rev. Dr. Ken Schurb (Zion Lutheran, Moberly, MO) in which he discusses the Task Force’s proposed changes. Dr. Schurb’s presentation was given at the winter gathering of the Lutheran Catechetical Society on Feb. 8, 2009; this is an up-to-date look at the proposals.

The Rev. Dr. Ken Schurb has taught theology at Concordia College, Ann Arbor; he also served as adjunct professor at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne. In the LC–MS, Pastor Schurb served on the Board for Youth Ministry and the CTCR, each for two years. From 1994 to 2001 he was an assistant to synodical President A.L. Barry. In 2006 he was elected Third Vice-President of the Synod's Missouri District.

Copies of this presentation are available on DVD for $20 (which includes shipping.) Order your copy today and get a current, critical examination of proposed changes that, if passed, would greatly effect the LC-MS and its districts.

To order your copy, please send a check made out to Lutheran CAT Society to Rev. Bruce Scarbeary, Trinity Lutheran Church, 202 W. Lincoln St., PO Box 268, Roanoke, IL 61561 (309) 923-7646 (office) or for more information, contact either Pastor Scarbeary at or Pastor Bryan Hopfensperger at
