This overture is going to attempt to be submitted at the NID convention.

Whereas the work of the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Synodical Structure and Governance is significant and will impact congregations, circuits, districts and the entire synod and

Whereas most members of synod congregations have yet to hear about these proposals and digest them and

Whereas the proposals are still being edited and rewritten and there is no final form yet and none on the horizon and

Whereas it takes time for such wide ranging proposals to make their way through the synod processes of deliberation and discussion and percolate down from the synodical level through both the district and circuit levels down to the congregations therefore

Be it resolved that the Northern Illinois District request that the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Synod Structure and Governance revise its planned schedule and present the final form of the proposals to the synod at its 2010 convention and allow a full triennium for discussion throughout the synod with a final vote on the proposals to take place at the following convention in 2013.
